INDIA need a LEGAL REVOLUTION

Entire winter session of parliament has been washed out by the oppositions reaction on 2Gscam probe, on demand of JPC (joint parliamentarian committee) for investigation and in order to react they didn’t let the work happen in this session of 43 days and the way political party created deadlock on 2G scam , Commonwealth corruption , Aadarsh housing society scam, they created deadlock it was a question on the code of conduct of honorable MPs . Cost of one day at Parliament is Rs 7.68 Crore and for 22 days it is total Rs171 crore almost ,Now my question is who is responsible for this loss of Public money .This is about the absolute cvalue of money what about the opportunity cost and the works which are supposed to performed in this session and impact of their delay on public and country’s progress .There can be so many ways apart from this deadlock ,All party meeting , Discussion with PM , Presidents intervening on these issues .I am not saying that these issues are important yes these issues are of higher priority and yes they are but what is the way to show your reaction .In the last couple of months the most discussed topic is 2G scam but Public is not even aware what it is exactly excluding experts and people involved .The main issue is still missing people are not aware how much money they have lost and how much the corrupts of the country have earned. People are more excited and concerned about the corruption issue .In my view Judiciary is main culprit of this all recently we have heard that Ex IAS officer Neera Yadava and Flex Industries owner Ashok Chaturvedi sentenced by court for 4 year imprisonment on Grafting case and Noida Land Scam .The reaction on this was mix but nobody was satisfied with this decision after this much big scam only 4 years sentence and what about the property earned by this scam by these people .Is Government going to seize their property absolutely no because their Law didn’t allow Govt. to do same .It implies that after being caught in any scam and proved guilty that is again a rare news in India you are not going too loose the property which is the main motivating factor behind corruption even if you are proved guilty .
The judiciary system of India have so many complexes and not flexible as per the time and society needs .The punishment should be practical trails should be fast and it should be result oriented . India needs a Legal revolution desperately as Green revolution , White Revolution , Telecom revolution has put India on front in the respective sectors same we need in Legal system also, it is the time to improve the quality of Law education ,Make the society more justice oriented and as per the degree and impact of crime. Proper code of conduct should be there for Policy makers .
People the common mass is the most important part of any revolution, we should initiate it .We should dare to ask our respective MPS, MLAs, Our Government to about their policies, their role, their contribution in the progress of country, society, via RTI .
India under progress we are developing from cocoon to butterfly this is the transition phase we need to be more alert about the environment, about the progress, about our contribution, about its impact, we have to ensure our participation in this phase what we will gain in future is the impact of what we will invest today in moral, physical attributes.

  1. Dear Srinidhi,

It is because of indifferent attitudes of us -we Indian and no confidence in Governance system \ inadequate protection from law. Fortunately RTI is a tool, very promising.

  2. The problem with legal revolution is that, how to make sure that the changes in legal system will not assist the guilty, may be it can provide better escape opportunities for them. Our participation can make things better but how to go for it is not clear.
